God has embedded in me a fear of disbelief. This fear is the result of searching Scripture for examples of the dire consequences of infidelity.
I thank God with all my being for having revealed the damage and debris caused by unbelief. We believe we have taken the matter very light, assuming that God ignores the doubts of those who are facing great affliction and hard times.
Once thought that the Lord should give some slack to those who face seemingly hopeless situations. For example, the disciples in the midst of a storm in a sinking ship. My thought was: "Lord, no more than human. They were overwhelmed by everything. There seemed no hope. It was simply a human response." However, Jesus rebuked their unbelief.
Yes, there a time to mourn, when Jesus lovingly whispers: "Go ahead and cry, I keep in my flask each of your tears." There are moments of grief, there are times when we feel overwhelmed and exclaim: "Lord, where are you ? We serve a loving Father who is touched by our feelings. Our faith is eclipsed when we let fear overwhelm us.
We can not remain in fear or give rise to doubt. We must stand up and be "confident in the shadow of his wings." God has no mercy of disbelief and all Scripture evidence. It may sound harsh, but God will not accept any excuse, he gives no other option than faith.
The people of Israel had ten opportunities to trust God in extreme circumstances, the whole crisis was the work of the Lord. The consequence of their unbelief was forty years of despair, confusion and pain. They lost the blessing of God, and He said they could not enter into a life of rest, peace and immense goodness of God because of their unbelief. And God called malignant disbelief: "Beware, brethren, lest there be in you an evil heart of unbelief" Hebrews 3:12).
Unbelief is caused primarily by denying the Word of God. Faith is impossible without the constant nourishment of the Scriptures and stick to their promises.
I choose to trust God. I do not want "my dead body in a desert," as happened to the Israelites. God told me to "gird up your loins ... made your burdens upon me ... stop looking at the circumstances ... do not ask why anymore. Daily Eat My Word ... memorize the promises. Pray with confidence ... believe with all your heart that God loves you ... He has not abandoned you. For one night will be weeping ... endure for a night but joy will come wailing in the morning.
Any situation that you are going through, even if you walk through the valley of the shadow of death, God promises to be with you. Now, get up and decides to start to trust Him Your disbelief does not change anything, but faith opens the door to liberation.
