"Your right hand, Jehovah, has magnified their power. Your right hand, Lord, has crushed the enemy "(Exodus 15:6).
While some Christians know they have been forgiven and saved, they lack the have the power to fight against the flesh. They have come to the knowledge of "full release" of his sinful nature. Christians, for their blood he saved us with his mighty hand and breaks the power of sin over us. Certainly sin still dwells in us, but it does not govern us!
"Freed from slavery by the power of his hand." What word is so encouraging in this time of disappointment and super-human effort to deliver the power of sin! However, we are still so reluctant to recognize the handiwork of God. It goes against our pride, our sense of justice, our theology, to accept the truth that our liberation from the dominion of sin comes from a power alien to us. Look at the example of Israel: Israel went armed, but all the battles were the Lord. "The Lord saves not with sword or spear, because the Lord is the battle" (1 Samuel 17:47). It was written in Exodus that "... the children of Israel went out with a mighty hand" (14:8). And they sang praises to God after having passed safely through the Red Sea.
blood saved Israel from the divine view, but the mighty hand of God delivered power of meat. They had experienced security and had rejoiced in it. Now they need power! Power to dispose once and for all the old enemy and be able to arm themselves against the new enemies to come. That power is in the hand of the Lord powerful and sublime.
We have been given precious and great promises which have surpassed those that were given to Israel. God has promised to deliver us from all unrighteousness and sit in heavenly places in Christ Jesus, free from the dominion of sin.
But first we must learn to hate the sin - do not make promises or commitments with him. Treat your sin, play with him, leave to remain, refusing to demolish - and one day become the subject more painful in life.
not pray for victory over the sins of the flesh until you have cultivated a hatred for them. God does not tolerate our excuses and our appeasement. Are you enslaved by a secret sin that causes anxiety and agitation, both physically and spiritually? Do you hate with a passion? Do you feel the holy wrath of God against sin?
Until you do, victory will never come.
